Tuesday's Two-Cents

thoughts about this past week(end) ~ it was busy and exhausting - we closed on our house on Thursday and immediately began moving - we spent the remainder of the day loading and unloading the moving truck. Friday was unpacking, organizing and flower planting (thanks mom). Saturday was more of the same. I think we went shopping everyday - there is a growing list (even after all that we've bought) of things we 'need' for the new home. Yes, some are really needs - some are "Steph & Chris wants." Sunday I had the opportunity to worship and hear a great sermon from a guest preacher (thanks Dave) and then it was back to more moving/house stuff before WAVE.

this weeks to dos ~ more unpacking, organizing and continuing to make our house our home! Oh and there seems to be some meetings this week too.

thoughts about the coming week ~ I hope to catch up on some sleep!

think about a thought ~ I can't think about a thought right now - so why should I ask you to?

Tuesday's Two-Cents

thoughts about the past week(end) ~ it was good - a bit busy though. Saturday was full of shopping - Steph wanted to hit the garage sales early in the morning - from there we went to check out new phones (our plans are up and at least my phone is on it's last leg - actually I think it's on life support). Then it was on to kitchen table shopping - we went back and looked at one we had previously seen and liked. After checking a few other places we ended up going back and purchasing this one. Later in the day we stopped by the home of two of our youth - their parents are getting rid of a couch, love seat and a couple tables (now our basement will be furnished for the youth who come to visit) hurray! More shopping and then home. Sunday was worship, a mission trip meeting and then WAVE in the evening - Life Size Clue anyone?!? All in all a good and busy weekend!

this weeks to dos ~ packing - it has to be done this week. catch up and wrap up on several things at work. close on our house Thursday and finally start moving!

book I'm reading ~ just did some reading in Colossians - but other than that all my books are packed right now!

tunes that triggered ~ just listing to a mix of things; Brewster, Tomlin, and a handful of others to keep me awake and upbeat!

thoughts on the coming week ~ who would have guessed the week would ever come where we would be purchasing a house....I'm excited for the week - but I can't wait for the actual moving and cleaning of the apartment to be done!

think about a thought ~ what would you do if Jesus told you to feed the 5,000? (hint: think deeper than the actual question here...)

Scripture to skim ~ Colossians 3 (thanks Brian for pointing me this direction this week)

Tuesday's Two-Cents

thoughts about the past week(end) ~ it was a busy one - Friday to Saturday was the 30-Hour Famine for the youth group - we had a great time, worship - games, and so much more. Brought dinner home and a movie with Steph Sat night and Sunday was an early day with the youth-led Easter service. lunch was with my family and then we spent a 'lazy' afternoon/evening at home doing not much of anything. Monday was a bit of a down day to recover from the long weekend. Spent some time getting more things ready for the move.

this weeks to dos ~ PACKING! a couple of meetings and then some more packing!

tunes that triggered ~ mostly some Easter-tunes this past week...all good stuff but nothing specific...

thoughts on the coming week ~ on one hand I'm excited, we're getting closer to our move date - on the other I'm a bit overwhelmed with all that is left to pack and do in the coming days.

think about a thought ~ WIJD? What Is Jesus Doing, in your life today?

Scripture to skim ~ Is 53

Be Quiet

I was surfing around this morning and came across a video one of my youth (thanks Jason) had linked to; Be Quiet And Listen.

The human side might say it needs some polishing but take a closer look...what is it God is trying to communicate through this young man. Maybe we need to be quiet and listen to how God is speaking to use in the day-to-day through the young people around us. This kid seems to have it figured out - at least as far as one of the "most difficult truths" for most adults to wrap their mind around.

What's your plan? Are you impatient or do you have faith? Are you turning to the distractions of cell phones, video games, friends, computers, TV, music...

Do you have more faith in man than in God?

Tuesday's Two-Cents

thoughts about the past week(end) ~ I was slightly disappointed in the weather - its supposed to be spring - but I suppose now all that bad winter weather is behind us for the year! Went to lunch Sat with my mother-in-law and Steph - did some shopping and then we returned to the apartment to get some packing done. The place continues to fill with boxes. Sunday I spent most of my day at the church - Palm Sun is always a favorite in my book - Pastor Jeff had a great sermon. Got some work done in the office and then got to attend Kylie's Senior Recital - wow talk about some talent! Throw in a leaders meeting and a fun night of WAVE and we can call the weekend a wrap!

this weeks to dos ~ lets see I have a meeting this morning (on my day off - shh it doesn't happen often), a full day in the office tomorrow a couple meetings (staff and mission trip planning) on Thursday and 30-Hour Famine prep to be done by Friday night. We're doing the Famine this year on Good Friday - I'm excited about some of the cool things we're putting together for the Famine and also in keeping the happenings of Holy week in mind. Should be a great week...we're getting closer to the move too - so that's a big 'to-do.'

book im reading ~ "Getting Fired" and some other book - the title has left me momentarily.

think about a thought ~ take some time this week to really think about what The cross means to and for YOU!

Scripture to skim ~ pick a Gospel this week and reflect on the story of Holy week - from Jesus' Triumphal entry to the Last Supper, Jesus praying in the garden, to all that surrounded His crucifixion and of course don't miss what happened on Easter morning - it's the best part of the story.

Have a blessed week and remember He did what He did just for You
